IRS Stonewalls Ongoing FOIA Request

IRS employee abuses

“The IRS’s repeated delays in responding to our FOIA request raise serious questions about their commitment to transparency and accountability. AIA is appalled by the lack of attention to these matters.”

- Chuck Flint, AIA CEO

This week, the Alliance for IRS Accountability (AIA) received yet another notification from the IRS delaying our Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request regarding Holly Paz and the activities of the pass-through audit unit. This ongoing delay raises serious concerns about transparency and accountability within the agency.

Our initial FOIA request, dating back to April of this year, seeks critical information about the operations and decision-making processes of the pass-through audit unit under Holly Paz’s oversight. Despite our persistent efforts, the IRS continues to stall, providing vague responses and no clear timeline for compliance. This pattern of obstruction prevents the public from understanding the inner workings of an agency that wields significant authority over taxpayers’ lives.

AIA is deeply troubled by the IRS’s apparent reluctance to provide the requested information. These delays undermine public trust and hinder efforts to ensure the agency operates fairly and transparently. The American taxpayer deserves answers, not excuses.
